Trentham and Hanford Newsletter - Motorbike seized, Neighbourhood Watch updates, reports to the Council, Parking patrols and advice, events and Police Street Surgeries |

Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you had a good weekend.
Firstly, a warm welcome to everyone who has recently joined Staffordshire Smart Alerts. I am very pleased to say that we now have 1607 persons registered to receive these updates in the Trentham and Hanford area. Thank you all for the support and for the fantastic response we had from the last message - It’s very kind and much appreciated.
Let’s keep it going and work towards 1700.
Motorbike seized
On 03/10/2026 myself and colleagues attended Clermont Ave due to concerns that a motorbike was being used in an anti-social manner. Several persons present were spoken to, their details obtained and the bike was seized under the Road Traffic Act, due to being used by person(s) without insurance. Enquiries into this matter will now be processed by the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Neighbourhood Watch updates
Yesterday (04/10/26) myself and PCSO Eggleton placed 24 Neighbourhood Watch signs on lampposts in the recently created Neighbourhood Watch zones. The streets were, Burrington Dr, Sunbury Cl, Glendue Gr, Cardigan Gr, Brindiwell Gr, Mallowdale Cl, Bowmead Cl, Consall Gr, Talsarn Gr, Trentley Rd, Cranbrook Cl, Malvern Cl, The Meadows, Allerton Rd, Perthy Gr, Churchill Way and Churchill Ave
New Neighbourhood Watch Zone launched
Recently I met with a resident from the Waterside Estate who requested a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme for the estate and wanted to be a co-ordinator. I am happy to announce that this scheme has been approved. The pre-existing zone on the Meadow Ln estate zone be increased to the entirety of the estate.
This map shows the outline for both zones..
If anyone would like to add their address to either of the schemes, they can do so by visiting www.ourwatch.org.uk
The schemes are called… Waterside Meadow lane, Chessington Cr, Hazeldene Rd, Lindum Ave, Earlsbrook Dr Neighbourhood Watch
I will deliver welcome packs to all addresses within these zones, which I will be doing in stages in the very near future.
School patrols
On 01/10/26 and 02/10/26 I attended Jubilee Rd at the end of the school day, in order to say hello to everyone and address any traffic issues etc. Whilst present a member of the public made myself aware of a raised paving slab, that I am told nearly cause an elderly person to fall over. This has been raised to the Council to request a repair.
Targeted Patrol – A34/Stone Rd
On 01/10/26 I completed an early evening patrol of the A34/Stone Rd, due to concerns in recent weeks of vehicles obstructing the pavement. It was a largely positive patrol, with only 1 vehicle being required to be moved.
Vehicle obstructions of the pavements are one of the most frequently reported issues to myself. But it is an issue that we can as a community make a big difference in helping to resolve, helping to create a safer environment.
When parking your vehicle, please take an extra few seconds to check…
*is there enough room for pedestrians, those with prams, wheelchairs and mobility scooters to pass?
Obstructions to blister paving
Blister paving is a special tactile surface with raised flat-topped domes used to help persons with visual impairments to identify safe road crossing points and drop kerbs.
Parking across or near to blister paving, can create a dangerous environment, therefore please keep clear of these.
